On Saturday, April 23, TFAC presents Franc D’Ambrosio’s “Broadway – Songs of the Great White Way,” the final show of the 2015-2016 Main Stage Season sponsored by Parsec Financial.

 

In this intimate show with his piano accompanist, tenor D’Ambrosio performs timeless classics that established Broadway as an American art form. A reviewer for the New York Times says of the performance, “I have seen a lot of concerts in my time and I have to say Franc D’Ambrosio’s Broadway is one of the best I’ve ever seen.”

 

Franc D’Ambrosio has had a wildly successful career making his Broadway debut in the first revival of “Sweeney Todd.” Franc was then cast in The Godfather III as the opera-singing son of Al Pacino and Diane Keaton and sang the Academy Award-winning theme song, “Speak Softly Love,” on the original motion picture soundtrack.

 

Immediately after, D’Ambrosio was cast in the title role of The Phantom of the Opera.  He played this to great success, earning the distinction “Iron Man of the Mask” for playing the role longer than anyone else.

 

His distinctive solo show features such hits as “Lullaby of Broadway,” “Not While I’m Around,” “Music of the Night” and “Bring Him Home.” Originally from the Bronx, he tells great stories of his family, his childhood, and his dream of becoming a singer.

 

Robert Sokol of the San Francisco Examiner describes D’Ambrosio as, “handsome and engaging … an utterly natural and relaxed performer who knows his material and is delighted to share it.”
