Polk County, usually a great second-half team, scored three goals against Avery County in the second half of Monday’s (March 21) match at Polk County, to defeat the visitors, 3-1. The Wolverines Ashley Love (#16) is about to propel the ball into the Avery net for Polk’s third goal. Avery had taken a 1-0 lead late in the first half, on a kick in from the corner. The win made the Wolverines 4-3 overall, and 3-1 in the Western Highlands Conference. Polk’s next matches, also at home, are against West Henderson on March 23, and North Henderson on March 25. Varsity begins at 7 p.m.
