Polk soccer team stops another WHC opponent

Faring much better against a Western Highlands Conference opponent, Polk County’s women’s varsity soccer team ripped Mitchell, 7-0, last Wednesday, March 16.
Saving their best for the second half, the Wolverines found the Mountaineers’ goal six times, having taken a 1-0 lead into half time.
Addie Lynch led Polk with four goals, with Reese Alley, Cameron Capozzi and Lauren Ketwitz adding one each. Ashley Love contributed two assists, with Baylee Love and Capozzi adding one each.
Against a yet-undefeated T.C. Roberson team, Polk fell, 4-0, at Roberson on Thursday, March 17.
Going into Monday’s match at home against Avery, the Wolverines were 3-3 overall, and 2-1 in the WHC, having also defeated Mountain Heritage, 6-1, on March 14.
On Wednesday, March 23, Polk hosts West Henderson, with varsity to start at 7 p.m. Friday’s home varsity match against North Henderson is also set to begin at 7.
