Recent heavy snow in the Foothills region inspired playfulness in some Saluda residents. On Sunday, Jan. 24, a large group of adults and children, inspired by Amy Wood, started an ambitious igloo construction project near the tracks across Main Street from Saluda’s business district. Wood, who had some igloo-building experience, and who helped construct the three-foot thick base, is shown third from right, toward the back of the structure, when the group returned Monday to continue working.
