Vance Augustus Cagle

Vance Augustus Cagle, “Gus”, 72, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015 at his home in Saluda, N.C. His wife, Margaret Cagle was by his side.
Gus was born in Hendersonville, N.C. on Oct. 7, 1943 to the late Henry Vance Cagle and Lohner Pressley Cagle. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Renea Cagle, and his sisters, Elizabeth Ratliff and Tulan Soloman.
He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968 and was stationed in Vietnam, 1967 to 1968.
He worked at Mitsubishi for 31 and a half years, in Greer, S.C.
A dedicated member of Victory Tabernacle in East Flat Rock, N.C., Gus loved the Lord with all his heart.
Gus is survived by his wife, Margaret Cagle; a son, Jay Cagle; two daughters, Dee Ward & Scott and Sonya Caughron & Sarah Arthur; a sister, Virginia Burrell and a son-in-law, Earl Jolley. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Josh Roberson & Candice, Amanda Anderson & Timothy, Jacob Jolley & Kelia, Victoria Cagle, Eli Cagle, Savannah Caughron, Ethan Cagle, and his eight great-grand babies. He also had many nieces and nephews.
A dedicated father, husband, and papa, he will forever be remembered for his bright smile and warm heart. We love you Papa, and we’ll see you again someday.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015 at Victory Tabernacle, 316 King Street, East Flat Rock, N.C. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, beginning at 12 p.m.
