“Huge road win” for Polk Friday

One game into Polk’s Western Highlands Conference varsity basketball competition, the men’s Wolverines are 1-0, after thumping Madison, 75-55, at Marshall on Friday, Dec. 11.
Friday’s game was a “huge road win for us to start 1-0 in the conference,” noted head coach Josh McEntire.
Jamal Wheeler (game high 33 points, with eight steals, four rebounds, four assists), Wes Mullis (11 points) and Daniel Painter (nine points), helped Polk build a 41-17 half time lead.
Kelby Aikens led the Patriots with 24 points.
Polk is now 3-3 overall, and 1-0 in WHC competition, with a conference game at Mitchell this Tuesday evening.
The next home game, also a WHC contest, is this Friday, Dec. 18 when the Wolverines host Mountain Heritage.
