Ann P.LaChance Richardson

Ann P. LaChance Richardson, 79, of Columbus passed away Oct. 20, 2015.  She was the daughter of the late Arnold G. Peek and Lillian McClain Peek.  She was the widow of the late Alva E. LaChance of Toledo, Ohio and the late  Robert R. Richardson of Columbus, N.C.

Born Oct. 3, 1936 in Winter Haven, Fla., Ann attended Plant High School in Tampa, Fla. and Miami University of Ohio. She moved to the Tryon area in 1980 and quickly became active in the business and social communities. She loved the many animals in her life and had an incredible group of lifelong friends that she enjoyed entertaining. Ann owned and operated Carole’s Shoes in downtown Tryon and later joined her second husband Bob at Blue Ridge Weavers, retiring in 2005.

Ann is survived by her beloved son and daughter, Alva E. LaChance, III of Columbus, N.C. and Suzanne LaChance Yarber of Cary, N.C.; and her two grandchildren, Sarah McClain LaChance Yarber and Austin Grant LaChance Yarber.

A celebration of life with family and friends will be held Saturday, Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. at her home at 91 Diamond Ridge Lane in Columbus, N.C. Burial will be a private family service at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetary in Toledo, Ohio, next to her husband Al, the love of her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested any donations be made in Ann’s honor to the Foothills Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
