Polk County District Court results for Oct. 7

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2105, with Judge Athena Brooks presiding, 232 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Keith Daryl Atkins was convicted of level three driving while impaired. Atkins was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 72 hours of community service, a $200 fine and court costs.
Joseph Arthur Barbara was convicted of larceny after break/enter. Barbara was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit and court costs.
Byron Allan Born was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Born was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, one day in jail, a $100 fine and court costs.
William B. Burnette was convicted of breaking or entering. Burnette was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation and court costs.
Jerry Blaine Byars was convicted of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen goods. Byars was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit and court costs.
Thomas Lee Franks was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Franks was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.
Valentina M. Gaffney was convicted of misdemeanor probation violation. Gaffney was sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit for 34 days.
Timothy Dale Gosnell was convicted of failure to appear. Gosnell was sentenced to two days in jail.
Flint ONeil Henderson was convicted of possession of open container/consumption of alcohol in passenger area. Henderson was to pay court costs.
Marie Darlene Kuhl was convicted of possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of schedule IV controlled substance. Kuhl was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit and court costs.
Thomas Mosseller was convicted of possession of schedule IV controlled substance. Mosseller was fined $250 and court costs.
William Mitchel Owenby was convicted of simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance. Owenby was fined $25 and court costs.
James Everett Pierce was convicted of three counts of misdemeanor larceny, three counts of breaking and or entering and possession of stolen goods/property. Pierce was sentenced to 36 months supervised probation and court costs.
William Henry Sanders was convicted of misdemeanor probation violation. Sanders’ probation was terminated.
Sheila Denise Swafford was convicted of resisting public officer. Swafford was fined $25 and court costs.
Ashley E. Turner was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Turner was fined $100 and court costs.
Walter Clarence Walker was convicted of possession with intent to sell/delver a schedule IV controlled substance. Walker was sentenced to 24 months supervised probation and court costs.
Wayne Wilkins was convicted of possession of marijuana. Wilkins was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, fined $440 and court costs.
