Our beautiful wife, mother, and Nana, HelenAnn Caffas Maiolo went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015. She loved her Lord, Jesus Christ, and her family with her whole heart. She showed compassion, forgiveness, and selflessness to everyone God placed in her life. She was our best friend and our rock here on this earth. She was a precious Nana to her beautiful grandchildren who loved and adored her dearly. We are thankful for the years the Lord gave her to us and yearn for the day when we can run into her arms again, kiss her sweet face, and share eternity with our precious angel.
HelenAnn was born on Oct. 21, 1946 to the late Constantine and Helen McCarthy Caffas in Pittsburgh, Pa., and made her home in Columbus, N.C. HelenAnn lived to serve her family as a dedicated wife, mother, and nana.
As she rests in her Savior’s arms, we know she’s watching over those of us who have hope in knowing that we will one day all be reunited with her, including: Loving husband of 45 years Tom Maiolo; her son Tom Maiolo; her eldest daughter Kelly Murray and husband Brian, her youngest daughter Kristen Bicknell–Robinson, and her seven grandchildren who were her heart, Benjamin, Brooke, Zachary, Kathryn Murray and Matthew and Jacob Bicknell, and Samuel Robinson. Also, five brothers; Norman, Richard, John, Bruce, and Arnold Caffas; two loving sisters, Jessica Mielecki and Lynn Nealon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gus and Stanley Caffas; and one sister, Regina Phillipps.
A worship celebration will be held in remembrance of HelenAnns’s beautiful life and dedication to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church with Dr. Terry McMillian, Pastor Dick Keller, and Pastor Matthew Bishop to officiate. The family invites all of their friends to join them and share memories, thoughts, and condolences of their beautiful wife, mother, and nana from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church prior to the Celebration of Life service. A graveside service and interment will follow at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in HelenAnn’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Research Center or to Gibbs Cancer Center and Research Institute.
The family will receive friends at the home at any time.
