AAUW program honors Domestic Violence Awareness Month

In observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Steps to HOPE will present “The True Face of Domestic Violence – A Survivor’s Story” at the Oct. 26 meeting of the Tryon Branch of American Association of University Women.

A domestic violence survivor will share her personal story for the first time. Steps to HOPE Executive Director Lee Lindsay will speak about how Steps to HOPE provides victims of domestic violence and sexual assault safe shelter, resources, and support to help put them on the path to healing and to beginning a new life free from abuse.

AAUW is a nationwide network of university women whose mission is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research.

The Tryon Branch of AAUW will meet Monday, Oct. 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the Tryon Presbyterian Fellowship Hall. The meeting is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
