Mamie Ruth Thompson Hall, 87, of Landrum, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 24, 2015. She was of the Baptist faith.
She will be greeted at Heaven’s gate by her loved ones who have passed before her including her father and mother, Thomas Mallie Thompson and Mamie Conner Thompson of Lynn, N.C., her husband Sarles (Bump) Wilson Hall, her son Sarles (Buddy) Wylie Hall and his wife Mary Gaye Liber Hall of Athens, Ga., a granddaughter, Stephanie Lynn Sigmon of Spartanburg, S.C., four loving sisters Bonnie T. Wilson, Faye T. Hooker, Betty T. Jones, Bertha Wilson and one brother Mallie Eugene (Gene) Thompson.
She is survived by two daughters Dixie Hall Sigmon of Tryon, N.C., and Cindy Faye Hall Powell of Landrum, S.C. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jackie Hall Jackson of Mill Spring, N.C., Joshua William Powell of Spartanburg, S.C., Ashley Powell Whitlock of Inman, S.C. and Beth Powell Williams of Spartanburg, S.C. She also has six great grandchildren, a sister Martha Wilson of Lynn, N.C., many nieces and nephews and a very dear friend, Mary Jean Powell Ball of Oak Grove, S.C.
The family will receive friends at Lynn First Baptist Church from 4-5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1. A memorial service will be held at the church afterwards.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills at 130 Forest Glen Dr. Columbus, NC or Lynn First Baptist Church at 339 Thermal View Dr. Tryon, NC.
