A Landrum man has been killed in a motorcycle accident the morning of Thursday, July 2.

The Greenville County Coroner’s office has identified the victim as Edward Campbell, 42, who was just minutes away from his home when he was killed.

Campbell was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle on Belue Mill Road at 5:45 a.m. when he lost control according to the coroner.

The coroner says Campbell was thrown from the bike and died from injuries sustained to his head. Campbell was not wearing a helmet.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, July 2.

The crash is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
