District One announces new Landrum Middle School principal

Former Cardinal, Tucker Hamrick, will return to Landrum after having accepted the role of Landrum Middle School’s principal. The announcement was made Thursday, May 28, at a called District One Board of Trustees meeting.
After more than a decade at Landrum High School where he taught anatomy and physiology, Hamrick was given an administrative position at Chapman High School in 2012. Hamrick also served as the offensive coordinator the varsity football team as well as head varsity softball coach for Landrum.
District One Superintendent, Dr. Ron Garner, described Hamrick an as outstanding educator and leader who has experienced success as both an educator and a coach.
Hamrick will replace Dr. Crystal McSwain, who will be joining the District One administrative team.
“I consider it an honor and a privilege to be named the principal of Landrum Middle School,” said Hamrick. “Under the direction of Dr. McSwain, Landrum Middle School has become a school that excels in all areas. I feel fortunate to be joining a school culture focused on student learning and innovation.”
