Jacquelyn Hopper Walker, 80, of Smith Waldrop Road, died Friday, May 29, 2015 in Rutherford Hospital, Rutherfordton, N.C.

Born in Rutherfordton, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Columbus “Jack” Wilkie Hopper and Ila Bradley Hopper and widow of Jackson Walker who died in 2002.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Lanny Hopper.

Surviving are four sons, Scott Walker (Cindy), Stuart Walker (Leslie Richardson), Seth Walker (Brenda Turner) all of Mill Spring, N.C. and Spencer (Billie Jean) of Mt. Gilead, N.C.; two brothers, Rev. Ad Hopper of Ellenboro, N.C. and Jim Hopper of Harris, N.C.; three sisters, Katy Jones, Mickie Pritchard both of Harris, N.C. and Faith Ann Rollins of Rutherfordton, N.C.; five grandchildren, Jack, Elizabeth, Emily, Lauren and Illa. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, N.C. with Rev. Ad Hopper officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday from 1-1:45 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be private at a later date.
