The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals on April 30 after discovering both an outdoor and indoor marijuana growing operation.
Daniel Edward Oconner, 42, and Kim Cox, 37, both of 20 Red Rock Lane, Mill Spring, were arrested and charged with manufacturing marijuana, according to sheriff’s office reports.
The sheriff’s office was called out initially regarding suspicious activity in the area of Manus Chapel road in the Mill Spring Community. Patrol officers located marijuana plants growing in an unoccupied field with an investigation initiated by the PACE (Polk Aggressive Criminal Enforcement) Team.
The investigation led officers to 20 Red Rock Lane, which was occupied by Oconner and Cox.
A search of the residence led to the discovery of a small indoor marijuana grow operation, according to sheriff reports. Officers said paraphernalia collected at the residence linked the occupants to the marijuana plants growing in the unoccupied field, which was adjacent to the residence.
Officers located 12 mature marijuana plants, 16 seeded containers and growing equipment, including grow lights, which were all seized from the residence.
Both Oconner and Cox were released from jail on unsecured bonds, according to sheriff reports.
