Awake…The song has just begun

As she gets us to watch and listen, with tongue in cheek, Candy Wilson says, “The songs are just beginning, so be awake and watch me or know your music well, one or the other. Both would be even better!” Then she flashes one of those fabulous smiles of hers. Indeed, we do try to sing well for Candy.
Actually, those words are in some of the songs that will be sung at the Community Chorus Concert on April 26. You will be completely enamored with the choices this spring. Feel good, comforting, fun, and lovely, are words I would use to describe the numbers. You’ll be chattering with the angels, thanking them for your simple gifts, singing with Maria Von Trapp, Anna, and the Beatles, going to the Chapel, hearing about Beethoven’s wig, Bach’s Air, and Bullfrog Jeremiah, feeling the beautiful earth around us, figuring out madrigals, and beating a drum! You’ll have goosebumps, we guarantee.
Come to the Community Chorus Concert on Sunday, April 26 at 3 at p.m. at Polk County High School auditorium. Tickets are sold by Rotary members and will be available at the door. You won’t be disappointed and perhaps will want to hum the tunes for the rest of your day. Director, Candy Wilson, accompanist, Pam McNeil, the musicians, and all the members of the chorus look forward to seeing you there!
All proceeds go to the Rotary Club Scholarship Fund.
