Peter Scott Sperka, 68, died on Jan. 3, 2015 after a short illness. Scott was born on Oct. 13, 1946 in Neenah, Wis. to the late Margaret King and Harold Conrad Sperka. Scott spent two years in the US Army before graduating from Wofford College in 1973. He retired from Wofford College.

Survivors include his wife, Shelley Henry Sperka; son, Adrian Sperka, and daughter, Caitlin Sperka Capozzi; and grandchildren Davis Sperka and Grey Capozzi. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friends of the Library Fund at Wofford College, or to Hospice of the Carolinas, Landrum, S.C.
