Franklin Pierce Cannon

Franklin Pierce Cannon was born on April 24, 1923 and was the son of the late John Tanzy and Emma Figgins Cannon. Pierce Cannon passed peacefully on Dec. 22, 2014.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was the founder of Cannon Community Fellowship Club. Cannon was the owner and founder of Cannon and Sons Mortuary in Landrum, S.C. He was a long time member and supporter of the South Carolina Morticians Association and the National Funeral Directors. He was a trustee of New Pilgrim Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Pierce Cannon was the youngest of five children, all of whom preceded him in death. He was a devoted husband for 60 years.
He leaves behind to cherish is wife, Azalee Comer Cannon; two sons of Landrum, S.C. Franklin Pierce Cannon II (Annette), Stephen Comer Cannon (Caroline); two daughters, Glenna Fay Holcome of Welford, S.C. and Virginia Morgan (Jimmy) of Union, S.C.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family received friends on Saturday, Dec. 27 Greater Saint James Temple in Inman S.C.
The Life Celebration was held Sunday, Dec. 28 at the First Baptist Church in Inman, S.C. Internment was in the New Pilgrim Baptist Church in Campobello, S.C.

Cannon Chapel of Funeral Service, Inman, S.C. was in charge of the services.
