About 1,600 bicyclists joined 17 time Tour de France competitor George Hincapie and a host of other cycling pros on local roads on Saturday. Most riders opted for the Gran (80-mile) and Medio (50-mile) options. The last major climb for riders was up the 17 switchbacks on Green River Cove Road near Saluda. This two-mile climb of just over 1,000 feet, came on the heels of climbs up Skyuka Mountain Road and Howard Gap Road. (photo by Mark Schmerling)
