Nettie Jean Barnette

Nettie Jean Watkins Barnette, 68, of Columbus, N.C. passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 23, 2014 in Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg, S.C.
Born in Bryson City, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Claude and Martha Fox Watkins. She was a graduate of Polk Central High School Class of 1964. Ms. Barnette was the manager of Red Fox Pro Shop for numerous years and later managed AAA Travel Agency in Spartanburg, S.C.
Surviving is one daughter, Jennifer McCraw (Darrell) of Columbus, N.C.; two sisters, Pat Culbreth (Nick) and Ruth Schlaker both of Columbus, N.C. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Allison, Camron, Benjamin and Bryson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion and dear friend, Lou Hoskyns who died in 2013.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 in the Tryon Country Club, Tryon, N.C.
