Tryon Back Door Distillery barreling on

It’s a wonderful thing to pick up 30 charred white oak barrels considering there is a nationwide shortage.
After that delicious process of melding caramel, vanilla, woodsy oak flavors with the grain whiskey; there imparts a delightful surprise with every barrel.
Each barrel consists of 2 year aged oak in itself. While these particular barrels are “Char 3” the charring determines the types of flavors given to the maturing whiskey and also removes sulfur compounds in the spirit.
And this means Tryon Back Door Distillery is ramping up production and storing their whiskey in these barrels for up to 2 years.
