Tryon Resort held a groundbreaking announcement on Wednesday, June 25 at the new facility off Hwy. 74 in Mill Spring. The announcement included the construction of a 150-room Salamander Hotel and resort, a 6,000-seat equestrian stadium, covered arena, health club, game room, tennis and basketball courts, indoor and outdoor pools, an Arnold Palmer designed golf course, luxury homes, log cabins, an RV park and the creation of approximately 500 jobs.
