Third grade students at Polk Central Elementary hosted “Open Mic Morning at the Poetry Cafe” for parents and grandparents during the school’s annual literacy week.
Students created invitations, set-up a mock “coffee house” and performed poetry favorites while guests enjoyed coffee and pastries.
This event was funded through a grant awarded from the Tryon Fine Arts Center, which focuses on student involvement in the performing arts.
