Outreach receives gift from Food Lion

Outreach has received $3,500 from the Food Lion Charitable Foundation to help feed local residents.
“Food Lion has always been very generous with Outreach. We’re delighted to receive this financial support and appreciate all of the ways our organizations partner to serve this community,” said Carol Newton, Outreach’s executive director.
Michelle Reedy, Outreach’s client service manager says, “With this money, we plan to purchase meat and other healthy, fresh food from our local Food Lion store. We are so grateful for this support, which will allow us to better serve our clients and to fulfill our mission of compassionate assistance.”
Established in 2001 the Food Lion Charitable Foundation provides support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding the hungry in the communities it serves.
Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $9 million in grants.
