Tryon Little Theater’s (TLT) board of directors has announced that applications are now available to graduating high school seniors, including qualified homeschooled seniors, along with undergraduate and graduate students who have actively participated in at least two TLT productions.
Applications are available at area high schools or can be requested by calling 828-859-2466 and leaving your name and phone number. “We will return your call, get your mailing address and send you an application,” John Calure, current TLT board president said.
The Sue Hipps Memorial Performing Arts Scholarship is awarded annually to qualified students who intend to pursue a course of study in some area of the performing arts.
The deadline for completed applications to be returned to TLT is May 2, 2014.
Once the applications are received, and the qualified applicants are interviewed, the name(s) of those who will receive a scholarship are turned over to the Polk County Community Foundation (PCCF). The staff at PCCF administers the distribution of the award to the student’s school of study.
