Polk arrests two in Dogwood Trail break-in

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals last week suspected of committing a breaking and entering on Dogwood Trail in Tryon earlier this month.
Polk County Sheriff Investigator Sgt. Robert Sieber conducted a traffic stop on Hwy. 9 South on March 27 that led to the arrest of two individuals who were suspects in a string of break-ins.
Jeremy Keith Hembree, of 282 Collinsville Road in the Green Creek area was arrested and charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering, two counts of felony larceny, one count of felony possession of stolen goods and one misdemeanor count of possession of stolen goods, according to sheriff reports.

Sgt. Sieber was able to locate stolen items during the stop that were missing from a break-in that occurred on Dogwood Trail on March 18, according to a press release sent from the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office was able to obtain a search warrant for the residence on Collinsville Road, which concluded with the recovery of other stolen items, according to the release.
“Investigators are currently looking into other recent breaking and enterings that could be related to the individuals now in custody,” said Polk County Sheriff Donald Hill.
Shortly after the Dogwood Trail break-in, the sheriff’s office sent a message seeking the public’s help with any information.
The break-in occurred between 8:40 and 11:43 a.m., with investigators saying the suspect(s) were able to gain entry into the home through a side door. A bedroom of the home was ransacked and a large amount of jewelry was stolen, according to police reports.
Jeremy Hembree received a $45,000 secured bond and as of last week was still being held at the Polk County Jail, according to sheriff reports.
He had his first appearance in Polk County court on March 28.
Jessica Ashley Hembree received a $24,000 secured bond and was still being held in custody as of last week, according to sheriff reports.
She also had her first appearance in court on the March 28.
