Millard & Company invites the public to a welcome drop-in for Michael Baughman, on Tuesday, Feb. 18 from 5-7 p.m. at the Depot, 22 Depot Street, Tryon.

Baughman comes to Millard & Company by way of Abacus Planning Group, a comprehensive financial planning and wealth management company in Columbia, S.C.  He has worked in financial services for more than 12 years.

“We’re very excited to have Michael on our team,” said firm principal Andy Millard. “He’s smart, dedicated, sincere and lots of fun. We’re already working together on new and better ways to serve our clients.”

Baughman grew up in Anderson, S.C. He obtained a bachelor of science from Presbyterian College in business administration and an executive certificate in financial planning at Georgetown University. Baughman serves on the South Region Board for the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).  The move to Millard & Company was unexpected.

“Andy had recently joined NAPFA and I emailed him suggesting we chat when I visited a friend in Saluda,” Baughman said. “As we talked, we realized we had a lot in common. We both went to PC and have similar approaches to financial planning.”

Baughman and his wife Carolyn, along with their young children, Ellie and Jack, moved to Tryon and are enjoying the town’s friendliness.
