Thermal Belt Friendship Council will host its monthly luncheon Saturday, Jan. 25, at 11:45 a.m. at Cocula Mexican Grill in Columbus, N.C. All are invited.
The Friendship Council is very active in bringing peoples of various races and ethnic backgrounds together in the various events it sponsors, such as the annual Friendship Picnic at Harmon Field in June, Christmas caroling and potluck, and the annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Commemoration at Tryon Fine Arts Center every year in January, as well as other events throughout the year.
The Friendship Council has no membership requirements, no dues, and there is never a charge for its events. Council members meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Roseland Community Center located on Peake Street in Tryon (except June, July and August) to plan activities. All members of the community are invited to come and participate in the meetings.
