Kathryn Cunningham appointed new director of TRHC

Tryon Riding & Hunt Club (TRHC) recently announced that Kathryn Cunningham has joined the organization as its new director.
TRHC President Nancy Z. Wilson said, ”We looked for an individual who could bring valued skills and fresh ideas while respecting our 88-year heritage and traditions. Kathryn’s work experience, expertise and unique abilities will make her a wonderful addition to TRHC and the community.”
Cunningham spent the past 12 years in Manhattan as a marketing executive for upscale international brands Hermés, Kieselstein-Cord and Kara Ross NY. She is experienced in business development, client relationships, marketing and communications strategies, finance/administration and customer service. She is a graduate of Virginia’s Sweet Briar College.
As TRHC director, Cunningham will be responsible for member relations and support, marketing, administration/finance and overseeing TRHC’s many events. Those include the annual Blockhouse Steeplechase, four charity horse shows, a recognized horse trials and schooling trials and the popular “Any & All Dog Show.”
All TRHC’s events are fundraisers for a wide variety of organizations in the Polk County area, including FENCE, Kiwanis, Rotary Club, PEER, Foothills Humane Society, Regional Pony Clubs, Polk County High School Band and FFA Shooting Club, and local fire and rescue squads. The club also sponsors annual scholarships and H/J Association Grants for Emerging Athletes.
According to Cunningham, “It is TRHC’s goal to keep community front and center in all we do. So we can increase support for our great local organizations, my highest priorities will be expanding membership and fundraising, both among our foundation membership and the next generation.” as its new director
