The annual Tryon Christmas Stroll will be tonight, Friday, Dec. 6 beginning at 5 p.m. with a variety of events to entertain as community members stroll through shops.

The event, sponsored by the Tryon Downtown Development Association, is aimed at encouraging people to shop in area shops for their Christmas gift lists and build community by visiting with neighbors.

 

Schedule of events:

5 p.m.

Mayor speaks and lights Christmas tree at the clock tower. Santa arrives on fire truck and goes to sleigh at St. Luke’s Plaza. Hot chocolate at plaza.Bonfire and marshmallows at Thompson Garden Gallery

5:15 p.m.

Dance Dynamics – clogging and tapping in front of the clock tower

5:30 p.m.

Polk County High School chorus sings at clock tower

6 p.m.

The Schweizer Strings at The Shops of Tryon,
then Skyuka Fine Art at 6:30 p.m.

6 p.m.

Phil and Gaye Johnson- Caroling around the bonfire on Trade Street

Holy Cross Bells/Caroling in the street

6:30 p.m.

Janet and Clifford Jones harp and guitar music in The Shops of Tryon

6:30 p.m.

The Firecracker Jazz Band at The Plaza
