Sally Beth Shore to speak on human rights at UUF, Dec. 8

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will meet on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the Tryon Youth Center on Rt. 176N. The speaker will be consulting minister, Sally Beth Shore. Her topic will be Human Rights for Everyone.
“Dec. 10 is International Human Rights Day. In recognition of this, the 65th anniversary of the adoption of the International Declaration of Human Rights, we regard this document—which has been translated into almost as many languages as the Christian Bible—and ask whether it is helping to create the world of beloved community we dream about. Our own human rights organization, the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, has also been active for over six decades, so we will celebrate its work. We are delighted to welcome back the Foothills Ole Tyme Jammers to play holiday music, including the locally written “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem.”
Come early if possible to participate in preparing the service and for fellowship and refreshments. For information call 828-894-5776 or visit uutryonnc.org where the latest newsletter can be found.
