Arlene Plumley Pierce, 78, of Landrum passed away Nov. 26, 2013 at her home after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Grady and Marion Dill Plumley and wife of the late Virgil Pierce.

She was a member at Blue Ridge Baptist Church and worked for Bommer Industries for 28 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Laurie Rivers (Stewart) of Greenville, S.C.; a stepson, Douglas Pierce (Rita) of Landrum; a sister, Hilda Pleasants (Phillip) of Lynn, N.C.; a granddaughter, Stephanie; very special friends, Bobby and Dixie Jenkins and Kim Staley.

She was predeceased by a sister Jo Plumley Pritchard.

The family will receive friends 11 a.m.- noon Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 12 p.m. conducted by Rev. Lynn Stewart. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
