Cardinals crush another opponent on road, 38-14

Landrum paved its own way with 22 first downs and just one turnover for the night. Powdersville, however, turned the ball over five times and could only collect nine first downs.
Getting their hands on the ball for Landrum were Bishop with 24 yards, Jacob Corn with two yards, Wilkins with 54 yards and Dewbery with 23 yards rushing. Receiving Lanning notched 113 yards, while Anthony Anderson grabbed 39 and Adam McNeil logged 2 yards.
“You know a lot of people determine whether a team is doing well by wins and losses. But if you really look at the beginning of the season and who we played – Broome had won five games last year and Polk County would be a 3A school if they were in South Carolina. I think we’ve been pretty good this season, but we’ve cut out some mistakes, which has been big. I’m real proud of our players as we’ve worked hard in practice, and proud of our coaches for getting our team playing at this level.”
This Friday, Oct. 11 Landrum will play Chesnee at home at 7:30 p.m. The night will include fundraisers for the American Cancer Society including a Crucial Catch Competition between the two schools this week. Also on hand for the night will be NASCAR legend and Hall of Famer Bud Moore for the coin toss prior to kick-off.
