Saluda Tailgate Market starts at 4:30 p.m. Fridays at the city parking lot off Main Street; fresh produce and lots of friendly smiles bring folks from miles around. Many Saluda businesses are open later on Friday.
Saluda Welcome Table is every Tuesday from 5:30 -7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Saluda United Methodist Church. All welcome for dinner; donations accepted.
The N.C. Small Town Main Street “Top of the Grade Concerts” are on second and fourth Fridays (Aug. 9 and 23) through October at McCreery Park; bring a lawn chair; food is available.
The Dancer’s Extension, located on Ozone Drive in the Don Mintz center, will have its annual open house on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. -1 p.m. with performances by National Honor Society members and candidates.
Mark your calendars for the third annual Cruisin’ for Telemedicine Old Car Show to benefit Saluda Medical Center at The Party Place & Event Center, Aug. 9 starting at 6 p.m. Music, raffle, hotdogs and old cars.
Art notes: Mark your calendar for Bill Jameson’s exhibit “Exploring the Blue Ridge” at Skyuka Fine Art in Tryon; the reception will be Aug. 10 from 5-8 p.m. Richard Baker have a reception at T.L. Norris Gallery in Greenville, S.C., Aug. 9 from 5:30-9 p.m. “Crossing The Line” with Bonnie Bardos and Charlotte Fowler at Upstairs Artspace, Tryon continues through Aug. 31, along with “Seeing Is Believing.”
Tryon Garden Club’s “Let It Sizzle, A Celebration of Seasons” silent auction of artwork inspired by Pearson’s Falls by many area artists, is Aug. 10, 6-9 p.m. at Tryon Fine Arts Center.
The Saluda Center annual gala will be held on Sunday, Aug. 18, 6-8 p.m. at the Party Place and Events Center. For more information, contact Karen Bultman at 828-749-1264.
