Polk County thinks forward

To the editor:
Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the commissioners meeting the other night regarding the future of agriculture economic development.
Over the years agriculture has been on the back burner of economic development in this county and country, however, in this county it has come to the forefront and rightly so! Preserving and developing the agriculture economy in this county is forward thinking. It preserves land and jobs. I know agriculture has been associated with many negative stereotypes over the years as well.
I am thankful that we live in a place that looks beyond these stereotypes. Ten years from now other counties are going to wish they had forward thinkers. Good job commissioners!
