Spring events abound

Sculpture 2013 at the Tryon Fine Arts Center through May 30 is a juried regional sculpture exhibition and sale. The opening reception from 4-7 p.m. will be held at the Mahler room at the center located at 34 Melrose Avenue, Tryon. For more information, visit www.tryonarts.org.
Another family friendly event is the Hunter Derby, hosted by the Blue Ridge Hunter Jumper Association at 5:30 p.m. at Harmon Field. All proceeds will benefit the St. Luke’s Hospital Foundation. The dinner is served ringside and features Foothills Mountain BBQ with side dishes and ice cream sundaes for dessert. Call Meshelle Colvin at 828-894-2693 for tickets.
In Saluda Green River Adventures seventh annual Spring Green Bash block party starts at 5:30 p.m. and is a community favorite. Enjoy great food, music and refreshments at 111 East Main Street, Saluda.
The Steps to HOPE Hunter Pace event at Greenspace of Fairview has been rescheduled for May 19.
