The Polk County Youth Cheerleaders (PCYC) will be hosting their first annual 5K Spirit Run on Saturday, May 11.
The youth cheerleaders invite the community to join in this highly spirited and challenging run/walk through historic downtown and the surrounding tree-lined streets of Saluda. The PCYC 5k Spirit Run will help enable the youth cheerleaders to afford uniforms, warm-ups, shoes and other necessities during the season.
The youth cheerleaders cheer at the Polk County youth football games and also compete amongst other regions within the Mid-Atlantic Carolinas American Youth Football Conference (MACAYF). The PCYC are between the ages of 4 and 13 to learn fundamentals of cheerleading through participation in an organized and competitive program.
PCYC strives to develop physical fitness of their bodies and moral fitness of their minds. This organization prides itself on the ability to provide opportunities to children of this community.
Participants are encouraged to register at www.imathlete.com or pick up registration forms at Tan-Tastic in Saluda or at Foothills Mountain Bar-B-Que in Columbus.
All participants who register before April 27 will receive a T-shirt. For more information or sponsorship opportunities, please email PCYC at PCYC5K@gmail.com.
