Deputies arrest Landrum man accused of sexually assaulting young girl

Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Officers arrested Alfard Steven Mullins Jr. of Landrum Friday, Jan. 11 on two counts each of criminal sexual conduct with a minor – victim 11 to 14 years of age and incest.
Deputies took Mullins, 34, into custody without incident around 4:30 p.m. at his home at 101 Mallory Dr., Landrum.
In October 2012, the mother of a teen girl filed a report with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, which stated Mullins had been sexually abusing her daughter since 2006.
The mother said on Friday, Oct. 5 she picked her daughter up from school and the juvenile proceeded to tell her that Mullins, who is related to the girl, began sexually assaulting her in 2006 and that the last occurrence happened Aug. 3, 2012.
The report states that the victim told investigators that Mullins touched her inappropriately and had sexual intercourse with her.
Mullins has been a custodian for the Polk County School System for almost a decade. The system has not said if it will take any action against Mullins.
