Danny Mitchell Campbell, 63, of Inman, S.C. died Friday, Jan. 27 in Spartanburg, S.C.
Born in Charlotte, N.C. on Jan. 6, 1949, he was the son of the late Reid and Doris Kennedy Campbell. He graduated from Garinger High School and Central Piedmont Community College, school of engineering, class of l983.
Danny loved life and lived it to the fullest. He accomplished and experienced in life all the things he wanted. He enjoyed traveling the world and his hobbies of diving, prospecting for gold in the hills of South Carolina and boating. He also enjoyed the times he spent on the staff of Camp Lurecrest (Garr Memorial Church). At the time of his death, he was the S.C. Commissioner of the Clan Campbell Society of North America.
Danny is survived by his wife of 23 years, Eleanor (Nell) Rogers Campbell of Inman, and two brothers, Gary Campbell (Pam) of Jacksonville, Fla. and Jeffrey Campbell of Charlotte, N.C.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. l in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, with Rev. Jerry Martin officiating.
Burial will be in the Tryon City Cemetery, Tryon.
Family will receive friends just prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon.
