A class in “Nia and The Joy of Movement” will be offered in Tryon on Saturday, Jan. 21, 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. at Healthy Balance Center for Empowered Living.
Nia, a sensory-based movement practice, draws from the martial arts, dance arts and healing arts. According to instructor Lia Barth, Nia invites you to move in your body’s way to attain health and well-being.
“It is designed to help you connect to the sensations – flexibility, agility, mobility, stability, strength – to bring greater balance, harmony and physical conditioning,” Barth said.
The class is open to people of all ages and abilities. No prior experience is required.
Pre-registration is requested by Jan. 16. To register, contact Healthy Balance at healthybalanceyoga@windstream.net or 828-817-1064.
For additional information on the Nia technique contact Lia Barth at 828-697-7449 or visit www.NiaNow.com. Healthy Balance Center for Empowered Living is located at 104 Palmer Street in Tryon.
