To the Editor:
Almost four years ago I made a major decision to relocate to Landrum to be closer to my children and to care for my grandchildren.
The kids are on vacation this week and a neighbor is caring for their two dogs.
On Wednesday my husband and I received a call from the neighbor telling us that one of the pets was shot dead. They found him in their yard under a tree.
We buried Gus and now have the sad duty to explain to the kids when they return that there is evil out there and Gus was a victim. We are truly at a loss to understand this cruel and mindless act.
