May Elizabeth Wondra, 99, of Tryon Estates, Columbus, passed away, Wednesday, February 2, 2011 in Tryon Estates Medical Facility, Columbus.

Born in McHenry County, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth May Justen and wife of the late Raymond O. Wondra, who died in 2000. Mrs. Wondra was a graduate of St. Mary’s College – Notre Dame. She did graduate work and several universities and taught foods and home economics at Downers Grove High Schools. She volunteered at Tryon Fine Arts Center, teaching weaving. Mrs. Wondra was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Tryon. She has been a resident of Polk County since 1980, coming from Downers Grove, Ill.

Surviving is one son, John Curtis Lenox of Lisle, Ill. Also surviving are six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in McHenry, Ill.
