On Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, the Polk County Board of Education recognized its 2010 Christmas artists. The students selected were Savanna Mitchell, Emily Shanahan, Zach Louis, Wesley Bullman and Mitchell Modlin.

Chairman Geoff Tennant, on behalf of the board and administration of Polk County Schools, presented each student with a certificate, a small gift and a box of their holiday cards.

Each year Polk County Schools recognizes five student artists whose artwork is used for the system-wide holiday cards. Tennant also presented a gift certificate to art teachers Susan McRostie and Jeffrey Thomas for their help with the yearly project.
