Raymond A. Bowie

Raymond A. Bowie, 83, of 100 Clarice Circle, Landrum, died on October 8, 2010 at White Oak Manor, Tryon, N.C. A native of Lisbon, Maine, he was the son of the late Stanford and Gladys Pillsbury Bowie.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce Stevens Bowie; two daughters, Diane Smith of Landrum, Deena Campbell (James) of Rock Hill, S.C., and a son, David Bowie (Stefanie) of Bristol, Va. He is also survived by six grandsons, Michael and Matthew Bradley, Joshua Bowie, Jeremy Campbell, Addam Bowie, and Robert Cumbow; a granddaughter, Nicole Campbell; three great granddaughters and two nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Milton Bowie of Lisbon Falls, Maine.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Seabees. He retired from Milliken and Co., Abbeville Plant with 32 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Ancient York Masonic Lodge #155 of Lisbon Falls, Maine, and a member of the Landrum Presbyterian Church. &bsp;

A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11 in the Petty Funeral Home chapel, conducted by Dr. Tom Malone.
