The Appearance Commission is an all-volunteer body serving Polk County in an advisory role and tasked with providing guidance and leadership in community design and appearance.
The Appearance Commission members are appointed by the Polk County Board of Commissioners. Appearance Commission members study the visual needs of the county, promote a public understanding of appearance issues, and suggest programs to enhance the visual quality of the Polk County area.
Visit the new website, www.beautifulfoothills.com, and look over the topics that interest you:
Litter cleanup with Adopt-a-Highway information;
Awards for beautification projects;

Strategies for clean and green growth;
News and minutes of the meetings.
The new website was constructed by local web designer Thomas Oder and features photographs taken by Saluda resident and commission member, Carolyn Ashburn.
Many sites in the county are featured on the website. The Appearance Commission invites the communitys input. Voice your ideas regarding appearance opportunities and become involved.
