Vera Lee Jackson

Vera Lee Jackson, 91, of 804 Butter Street died April 22, 2010.&bsp; She was the daughter of the late John Ruben and Rachel Redden Burgess and widow of Harrison Jackson. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and retired from Owens Pharmacy, Oak Hall and Tryon Bantam Chef.
She is survived by a son, John H. Jackson (Joan) of Landrum; three daughters, Inez Shehan of Landrum, Ida Cash (Austin) of Micanopy, Fla., and Geneva Foster (John) of Pickens, S.C.; two brothers, Albert Burgess and Coleman Burgess, both of Pickens; a sister, Grace Robinson of Pickens; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by four sisters, Octavia MaGaha, Wilma Cofield, Virginia Motes and Joann Burgess; and two brothers, Glover and Alton Burgess.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Monday, April 26, 2010 at Petty Funeral Home.&bsp; Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Rev. Chuck Mullinax. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
