The Lady Wolverines picked up two more wins following the recent spring break, powering past Burns 8-3 on Wednesday, a day after they defeated rival Hendersonville 5-1.
Jamie Hrobak pitched a complete game and earned the win for Polk County in both games with dominating performances.
She had a total of 24 strikeouts, including 11 on Tuesday and 14 more on Wednesday. She gave up just two walks total between the two games.
The Lady Wolverines offense gave Hrobak more than enough run support.
On Tuesday, Polk County finished with a total of eight hits, including two each from Nikki Williams, Alyssa Montgomery and Hrobak. Williams and Hrobak each scored twice.
On Wednesday, the Lady Wolverines jumped out to a 3-1 lead after one inning and took control with two more runs in the fourth and two in the sixth.
Montgomery helped spark the offense again, going 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs. Kara Garvin, Nikki Williams, Sammy Mazzilli and Shaylyn Brown each went 2-for-4 and scored at least one run for the Lady Wolverines.
Polk County improved to 10-3 overall and 5-2 in the Western Highlands Conference with the two victories.
