Mill Spring Fire Department gets $139k grant

The Mill Spring Fire Department has received another grant to help improve its response through additional training, technology and equipment. The U.S. Department of Homeland Securitys Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded $138,899 to the Mill Spring Volunteer Fire Department from the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program. This is the third federal grant the Mill Spring department has received in the past year. The department received $235,154 last February to recruit and retain volunteers and $156,603 last March for training and equipment.
