Polk County may be in an arctic blast with the temperatures hovering at 30 but plans are underway for the 2010 4-H Summer Camp Getaway. Polk County 4-H will be traveling to the Betsy Jeff Penn 4-H Center in Reidsville, N.C. the week of July 4 through July 9. The opportunity is open to any youth age 8 to 14. Daily activities include swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, archery, arts and crafts, hiking, environmental studies, a climbing wall and team building/ropes course. Evening activities include a talent show, land/water sports, campfires, dance and awards ceremony. The camp has space for six girls and six boys and spots fill very quickly.
