A frosty night, lots of holiday cheer, and a chance for more than 100 kids to learn about winter festivals all over the world.

For the first time this year, as part of the Saluda Hometown Christmas Stroll, the Saluda Community Library offered a special childrens program.

The program was made possible by contributions from Saluda resident, Dr. Mike Dennis and the Saluda Womens Club.

The Arctic Express was a magical train ride around the world, blending education and entertainment to teach kids about holidays like: Diwali, Kwanzaa, Solstice, Lunar New Year, Ramadan, Hanukkah, and of course, Christmas.

Participants say that the highlight of the program was when Conductor Steve provided a magical snowfall.
